The Spring 2026 season of Healthy Kids Running Series - Buffalo Grove is underway to bring together young runners and their families for the first week of this youth running program. The event focuses on encouraging kids to stay active, build confidence, and enjoy a supportive community environment.

Healthy Kids Running Series is a five-week program designed to motivate children to lead active lifestyles while developing self-esteem and sportsmanship. Kids of all ages and experience levels participated in age-appropriate races, from short dashes for younger runners to longer distances for older participants.

Spring Season Running Series in Buffalo Grove

Week 5 was awards and face painting day! All runners received a medal at the finish line as a keepsake and to commemorate all the kids' hard work and dedication to this event! Those who ranked 1st through 3rd place cumulatively throughout the series were awarded trophies. Onsite face painting was also available and there are some adorable photos of the kids with their faces looking oh so cute! The kids were also super excited to get a turn to cheer on mom and dad at the parent mile race. There were so many fun things going on for week 5. Events like this provide a positive introduction to running and allow kids to track improvement week after week. The program emphasizes participation, personal growth, and encouragement, making it welcoming for both first-time runners and returning participants.

Week 5 Highlights

The last week of the Spring 2026 session included:

• Youth runners of all ages

• Supportive families cheering along the course

• Kids working toward personal goals

• A fun and encouraging community atmosphere

• Face painting

• Medals for all participants

• Parent Mile Race

Each week gives children the opportunity to build endurance, gain confidence, and celebrate progress.
