It was such an honor to celebrate Valentine's Day with the League of Women Voters (Arlington Heights area chapter) at the wonderful Metropolis Ballroom in Arlington Heights! The League of Women Voters has been an active voice in women's suffrage and voter education since before women were legally allowed to vote in our country!
Event highlights included a cake cutting by a league member who has been active for 50 years and dueling piano entertainment by Felix & Fingers to dance the night away to. Political candidates running for office, Village of Arlington Heights officials, and local school district representatives gave toasts to commemorate the occasion.
As a woman, it was a proud moment for me to see such an important mission making it to 100 years! That is surely a wonderful accomplishment.
