Who here loves the beach as much as I do?! I could seriously be at the beach everyday in the summer if I could! If you're thinking about having your next family photo session taken in the sand and by the water, here are 3 tips to prepare:
1) Shoe Considerations
Sure we will be taking photos barefoot in the sand. It only seems like a natural choice, right? We will need shoes for the walk to and from the parking lot to the beach so I recommend shoes that slip on and off quickly and are sand / water friendly like flip flops.
2) Caution: Your Clothes May Get Wet
On a warm summer evening, who can resist getting into the water? Probably not the kids! Be prepared that the kids may be really excited to have a little fun and splash around. We will focus on getting some posed photos before that happens so everyone looks their best before capturing all the fun! Make sure to wear clothes that you are okay with getting wet.
3) Towels & Change of Clothes
Chances are if you and the family have been playing in the water and sand, you'll want to dry off before driving home. I recommend bringing towels and a change of clothes with you in a beach (sand) friendly bag just in case. While we won't be going for a swim, it's better to have this option so that everyone stays comfortable if you do choose to take some photos in the water.
Lastly, come to the beach to have some fun! We'll take some great photos of your family and enjoy being lake side. I'm looking forward to your session. Beach sessions are available all year long. For a different look, consider a beach session in the fall or winter too!
