A Merry Morning at the Amazon Fresh Holiday Event 🎄✨

There’s something magical about photographing people at a time of celebration. The way eyes light up, how kids smile when they see Santa, and how a room full of kids decorating cookies come together in the our local community - that’s why I love what I do!

Last holiday season, I had the joy of documenting the Amazon Fresh Christmas event full of holiday details, cheerful families, and creative moments — and I’m excited to share some of my favorite photos here! 📸

🎅 Santa, Cookies & Community Vibes

From the moment I walked in, this event felt warm and inviting. There was:

• 🎅 Santa on his festive throne, laughing with children and grown-ups alike

• 🍪 A cozy cookie-making station where everyone got creative

• 🍎 Beautifully styled holiday food displays, each one bursting with Christmas cheer

Each image I captured told a story — from shy smiles to belly laughs and photo booth props that beg for silliness in the best way. These are the kinds of photos that the holiday season is made of.

🎨 The Mural Reveal — A Winter Tradition

The highlight of this event was the reveal of a brand-new mural by a talented local artist. The artwork embraces the depth of winter and community spirit — and it was on display all through the season.

From the anticipation in the crowd to the first reveal of color and design, this was a moment worth documenting with care. I love capturing these events because they’re about more than just pictures — they’re about stories, moments, and shared experiences.

🛒 A Bittersweet Note: Amazon Fresh Store Changes

While the holiday event felt full of joy, this year marks a transition for Amazon Fresh as a whole.

Recently, Amazon announced the closure of all Amazon Fresh and Amazon Go grocery stores nationwide, shifting focus to online grocery delivery and expanding Whole Foods locations instead.

Could a Whole Foods be making its way to Arlington Heights soon?!

📷 Why These Moments Matter

Photography has always been about freezing feeling — the joy in a kid’s eyes when they meet Santa, the concentrated focus of someone decorating their cookie, the delight in seeing a mural unveiled for the first time.

Even though Amazon Fresh stores are closing, the memories people made during one of their final holiday celebrations will live on. I’m grateful I got to document this moment in time of Amazon Fresh's history.
